Why Obama Can’t Put Hillary Away

ron fournier of the ap wrote an article this morning entitled, “on deadline: why obama can’t close deal.” in it, fournier lists five reasons why hillary can notwithstanding prove to be a pretty pickle for obama come convention antiquated this august.1) tribe: the jury is that time over on whether a black control can overcome america’s original sin and be elected president… an ap-yahoo info question found that helter-skelter 8 percent of whites would be uncomfortable voting for a black president. the tangible percentage is presumably higher because voters are shy on touching admitting a ethnic prejudice to pollsters.that, plus you’ve got bubba playing the racecourse prankster by claiming obama’s campaign tried to pull the bed card on him, allegations from which he then tried to inch, then you have the nevada caucus brouhaha when the clinton camp tried to stop pro-obama union workers from caucusing and you secure a significant reason why hillary is still in this step on it. this isn’t a shortcoming on obama’s part as much as it’s a significant failing on the part of a campaign that’s all too willing and desperately inspirited to exploit racial divides.2) these are the folks who obama said “cling to” guns and god, an inelegant attempt to explain to san francisco liberals how gop operatives exploit democratic voters in anxious economic times. he bowled (poorly) and drank beer in a indistinct attempt to show a blue-collar touch.so obama is not electable because he’s a bad bowler and because he tried to connect with unhappy collar voters, which is absolutely unprecedented in an election year. and how make bold he put his finger on the pulse of the problem, that middle america isn’t decidedly exuberant and uninterrupted embittered about their station in life?3) friends in trouble: the longer the campaign goes, the more questions obama faces in his friends and associates.he was phoney onto the defensive by incendiary comments by his pastor, the rev. jeremiah wright. friend and fundraiser antoin “tony” rezko faces corruption charges.so how lay the same doesn’t dedicate to hillary and her long association with the recently-nabbed norman hsu, not to name her vastly underreported sole with alan g. quasha, head of bush’s former employer, harken energy? wal-mart? entergy? the list goes on like a who’s who of the sec’s 10 most wanted.4) innocence: it’s accurately that clinton has not at any time run a government or a business, but many voters give her impute for vicinity. they consider her experience as first lady preparation for the presidency.by any bulk, obama is relatively inexperienced, having left the illinois legislature less than four years ago. are you kidding me? john f. kennedy was also an inexperienced forty-something lawmaker, also with three years experience in the senate when he was elected.if voters think that eight years as first lady and “proximity” to the presidency is better preparation as a replacement for the ovoid office than obama’s vaster experience as a politician (seven years as an illinois state senator), then we are truly fucked.5) mettle: clinton’s backers love the fact that she fought republicans not to mention the “right-wing conspiracy” during her husband’s presidency. which doesn’t jibe with her disturbing willingness to work with the unchanged republican party that got us into this morass that we’re in right things being what they are regarding iraq, the tanking economy, you handle it. we don’t a slightly more masculine adaptation of joe lieberman, a former goldwater fianc?e, in the white house actively trying to form a “centrist coalition” that welcomes republicans that would love nothing more than to continue bush’s eight years of self-centered evil.if these are sober considerations, voting according to race, proximity masquerading as experience, troubling associations, then in a flash i’m not as confident for obama’s chances as i was. for some insane reason, american voters are coming around to the opinion that clinton would be a better peer against mccain despite the fact that, 1) clinton stock-still hasn’t put away obama and 2) she hasn’t a prayer of doing that unless the wild card superdelegates swing her way, giving a superhuman middle finger to the american people… because they, too, were fooled into believing that only hillary can apply for away mccain.
